I had the smaller itech2000 which came with a hard case. When I upgraded to the JS80 it only had a soft case. As soon as a hard case became available I purchased one. I am very happy with the sturdiness of the new case and the extra protection. I would also add that both these jump starters have jumped my V8 diesel landcruiser without any effort and got me out of trouble. A good safety investment.
