Lithium battery heat shield for under bonnet install heat protection
This is for an under the bonnet lithium battery install for a 200 series LandCruiser 2020 model, So far so good, I’ve been feeling the battery after about 2 hours of driving up on the Sunshine Coast ambient temp around 27 to 30 deg C and the battery feels like about 40 deg whilst the battery tray is getting quite warm possible 60 deg C but the insulator that you install between the battery and battery tray along with this battery heat shield that raps around the battery looks to be doing its job, there is one thing I did do before putting the piraña battery tray down was to install a Teflon come plastic 5 mm chopping board between the battery tray and body of the car to try and stop the radiant heat coming from the mud guard, I did some trials early without the aux battery installed and the section where the battery tray sits gets quite hot this is why I added additional insulation and seems to be working, it doesn’t hold the heat in either heat still dissipates quite quickly when you shut the engine down and as mentioned battery around 40 deg that is only by feel I will measure it with a inferred temp monitor to get exact temp readings.

Under bonnet solution LC200
Works brilliant and love being able to turn of output and input via Bluetooth. Please add adjustable smart over current shutdown so we can get rid of fuses!
